In February 1985, LS Transit Systems (LSTS), the US domestic affiliate of SOFRETU, was created. Rail Transportation Systems, Inc. (RTS), the US domestic affiliate of SOFRERAIL, was formed in 1989. SOFRETU and SOFRERAIL merged, and in 1994, LSTS and RTS joined forces under the holding structure of SYSTRA USA Inc., which includes SYSTRA Consulting, headquartered in Little Falls, NJ, and SYSTRA Engineering located in New York, NY.

SYSTRA established a west coast office in the late 1980s in Los Angeles. In 1991, SYSTRA opened a Philadelphia, PA, office in Center City and, in 1995, opened a San Francisco, CA office.Continuing it's expansion throughout the US, SYSTRA opened offices in Chadds Ford, PA (1990), Lebanon, NH (1993), Boston, MA (1994), Altanta, GA (2000), Chicago, IL (2006) and its newest office in Denver, CO (2007).

Today, SYSTRA is part of SYSTRA Group, a global enterprise with a staff of more than 1,100 employees and a 50-year history in developing and improving transportation systems worldwide.
